As Mexico’s digital gambling market continues to develop, regulatory discussions are focusing on areas including age verification, licensing and compliance. A proposal submitted to Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies in December 2025 would introduce real-time age verification for digital platforms offering betting games and draws. The proposal remains pending.
Mexico’s regulatory developments are taking place alongside changes in other Latin American markets. Brazil has established a national framework for fixed-odds betting, while Peru regulates remote gaming and remote sports betting and Colombia has introduced new risk-management requirements for territorial games of chance.
Zuhair Rizvi, Director of European Operations at Gaming Associates, said:
“We see a lot of positive signals coming out of Mexico right now. The appetite for modernisation is there, the market fundamentals are strong, and that combination tends to produce good outcomes for the industry as a whole. We are optimistic about where this is heading.”
