About the WLA-SCS:2020 Standard

The WLA has recently released the seventh edition of its security standard, WLA-SCS:2020, which introduces several important updates, including:

  • New controls for lottery technology suppliers

  • Provisions for the use of cloud hosting in lottery gaming systems

  • Additional controls for privacy and application security

The standard integrates a comprehensive information security management baseline based on ISO/IEC 27001, along with lottery-specific security controls that reflect current best practices in the industry.

Commitment to Security and Integrity

The security and integrity of lottery and sports betting operations are essential for maintaining client trust and confidence.
The World Lottery Association requires that all lottery operators, sports betting organizations, and gaming entities seeking affiliation must establish and uphold a documented and transparent security environment.
