Under Spain’s iGaming regulatory framework, overseen by the DGOJ (Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego), licensed operators may add new game types by applying for singular licences in addition to their existing general licence. Each singular licence covers a specific product category (e.g., casino games, poker, betting, bingo), and approval is subject to strict regulatory and technical conditions. Q4: Can the same certification body perform both certification and Homologation audits in Spain?
No. To maintain impartiality and regulatory integrity, the Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) requires that a certification body cannot conduct Homologation audits on systems it has previously certified. However, it may perform Homologation audits on systems certified by other independent bodies, provided there is no conflict of interest and full compliance with DGOJ impartiality standards.
